The spectators or gallery as they call it in Japan were very committed. Over Half of us stayed until 5am the next morning with the drifting in front of you and the echoes of Bucket Racers in the background, who would want to leave?
This S14 may seem familiar to the right eyes. This particular car has a good history here between friends and its still kept in an immaculate condition just like how the first owner had built it. It now sports more of a street friendly outfit.
The line up of Vertex, GP Sports, BN has changed to a more subtle OEM aero bumpers and side. Keeping with the simple additives of GP Sports roof and boot spoilers and BN Sports Bonnet and still sitting on Blitz 03′s, It looks at home on the street.
With the suspension setup being full of Tein, Cusco, Part Shop Max parts, everything is well balanced.
The body is very good with very few k’s, and with the rigidness helped by a bolt-in 5pt. cage, Bride and Nardi everything is accounted for in a well built car.
Seeing as I havn’t been taking photos so much recently, I took the opportunity to experiment with some night shots.
Have a back log of photos that I havnt posted up so will slowly go through them every now and again.
Adam from C’s Garage kindly let me work on the 86 in his garage seeing as my driveway was shithouse gravel.
With a few things to do before the 86 Trackday next weekend we got onto it after work for the passed 2 days to get to the point we are at now!
3Puck Silk Road Clutch and Toda Flywheel were installed, along with the help of Mark from Team Blink, Nagisa Auto Tension Rods and adjustable Panhard was installed
Adam welded up a new 02 Sensor flange on my new extractors and got the exhaust sitting higher than before which was awesome.
My friend Matt came to help out tonight with the rust side of things patching up a hole above the boot latch.
My Bride Vios III was put in as well as a quick release boss kit which sorted out my driving position.
So once this all came together tonight Matt took some photos: Check his other Photos out here – Matt’s Blog
Seeing as Im going to be running around the same wheel setup as Adam runs on his wagon we decided to test fit the Starsharks on the 86
The Rears definitely need to flared out but I had already planned on doing them but this will come after the trackday.
With that confirmed, we dropped it back down onto the ground with the skidder watanabes and off for a test run.
Even with really old tyres all round (Cracked Sidewalls Grid II’s and Dunlop Lemans haha) the car really stuck to the road and handles nice. Kept Matts DC2R on its toes. The Toda Flywheel definitely made a lot of difference keeping the standard bigport in the torque range which im very happy about. More work to do tomorrow including half cage install and small bits and pieces. Definitely needs an alignment!
After that test run, I went for a ride in Matts DC2R and he definitely made me remember why I love hondas again! Especially when they are as well setup as his!
Such a mint example of a DC2R and being a 98 Spec its got very nice factory bits and pieces to make this a unique Type R Integra, He also took me for a touge lap which had the RE-11 Tyres screeching through the corners which made me laugh a lot! So much fun! Makes me want a honda Track car!
I headed to Oifuto tonight to see some street drifting. Was in high hopes for some drift trains or atleast some decent manji`s!
What I saw and what I shot are two different things haha, I saw over 20 cars come at one time all ready for some Manji action, what I shot was one S13 doing Manji`ing and then the cops came…. FUCK!!! everyone scrambled, but there were some definate cool cars there!
I got there at 11pm and stayed around till 3am, it is now 3.22am and am posting this up hahaha
There were atleast 4 cop cars all waiting for us driftzoku to come back. What bastards! I had to move as they were questioning the car behind me parked up so moved around the place to see everyone just waiting for the cops to go but nothing happened. I will try and go again next week but probably on a friday and will go to daikoku futo aswell just so I can actually take some decent pics of cars instead of just one! Sorry guys, Next week it is! But heres the pictures anyway!
